Platinum Turmeric
For knees that remember every mile and backs that remember every flight. Curcumin standardised to 95 percent, with black pepper extract so it is actually absorbed, plus the joint ingredients with the best trial record, in two capsules a day.*
Turmeric is only as good as what your body absorbs
Curcumin is the active part of turmeric and most of it passes straight through you. That is the dirty secret of the cheap bottles. This formula pairs a 95 percent curcuminoid extract with BioPerine, a black pepper extract that raised curcumin absorption by about 2,000 percent in a human study. Around it sit the joint ingredients with real trials behind them: Boswellia serrata, ginger, glucosamine and chondroitin, MSM, quercetin and bromelain. Two capsules before a meal with a little fat, because curcumin is fat soluble.*
The session was fine. It is the next morning that costs you.
Past a certain age the limiting factor is rarely fitness. It is how many hard days your joints and connective tissue will let you string together before something starts to complain. Curcumin has been studied for exactly this. In a placebo controlled trial, runners who took curcumin around a downhill run reported less delayed onset muscle soreness and showed lower markers of muscle damage over the following days. A 2024 systematic review in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition reached a similar conclusion across studies in athletes. Boswellia and the glucosamine and chondroitin pair were tested over weeks to months for joint comfort and stiffness. This is not a painkiller and it will not mask an injury. It is a way to recover well enough to train again on Thursday.*
Studied, not just marketed
Turmeric carries a lot of hype. These are the studies that matter for joints and recovery, including the one that explains why absorption decides everything.

Twelve hours in a chair. Nine hours in a seat. Your joints keep score.
Desk work and long haul travel are hard on the body in a way that never shows up on a fitness tracker. Hips and lower backs stiffen, knees get creaky on the stairs at the airport, and the inflammatory chemistry of a sedentary day is different from that of an active one. Most people in this position reach for an over the counter painkiller when it gets bad. Dr. Elizabeth would rather you support the underlying response daily with ingredients that have been tested for joint comfort and mobility, at doses that mean something. Two capsules with breakfast, a walk at lunch, and the stairs instead of the lift go further together than any one of them alone.*
Why Dr. Elizabeth stocks this
"Active patients in their forties and beyond ask me about joints more than anything else, and I used to send them home with three or four separate bottles. This one puts the ingredients I kept recommending into a single formula at sensible doses: standardised curcumin with piperine, Boswellia, glucosamine and chondroitin. Two things I say every time. It contains shellfish derived glucosamine, so it is not for anyone with a shellfish allergy. And if you take a blood thinner, ask your physician first."
What to expect
Two capsules a day, 20-30 minutes before a meal. Curcumin and Boswellia build up gradually; this is the settling-in period.
The clinical trials on curcuminoids and Boswellia measured their results in this window. Expect easier mornings and less post-exercise stiffness rather than an overnight change.*
Joint support is cumulative. Glucosamine and chondroitin in particular were studied over months, not weeks, stay consistent.*

Good questions
Does it contain allergens?
Yes, glucosamine sulfate is derived from shellfish (crab, lobster and crawfish). Do not take this product if you are allergic to shellfish.
Can I take it with blood thinners or before surgery?
Curcumin, ginger, bromelain and fish-derived ingredients can affect clotting. If you take anticoagulants or have surgery scheduled, talk to your physician before starting and stop at least two weeks before surgery.
Can I take it around training?
Yes. The muscle soreness trials dosed curcumin daily in the days around hard sessions. Take your two capsules with a meal that contains some fat, at the same time each day; there is no need to time it to the workout itself.
Is it a painkiller?
No. It does not block pain the way an over the counter tablet does and it should never be used to push through an injury. It supports the body's normal inflammatory response and joint comfort over weeks of consistent use. If something hurts sharply or swells, see a physician.
Why BioPerine®?
Plain curcumin is very poorly absorbed. BioPerine® (black-pepper piperine) has been shown in human studies to raise curcumin bioavailability roughly twenty-fold, which is why every serious turmeric formula includes it.
Is the glucosamine and chondroitin evidence solid?
It is mixed, and we would rather say so. The large NIH-funded GAIT trial found the combination did not help most people, but did appear to help the subgroup with moderate-to-severe discomfort. Curcumin and Boswellia carry the stronger evidence in this formula.
When should I take it?
Two capsules once a day, ideally 20-30 minutes before a meal containing some fat, curcumin is fat-soluble.
